About the Artist
Megan Dean is a native of Arizona and a resident of Prescott, AZ. Megan received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona in 2003 and thereafter returned to Prescott. Megan is predominantly a printmaker working with monoprint and relief. Megan uses linoleum cuts in most of her work. Megan continues to take classes and work in the Printmaking department at Yavapai College in Prescott. Megan’s work tends to be iconographic and symbolic, dealing with everyday themes such as family, nature and personal growth. Megan is an avid reader and is also interested in gardening, cooking and spending time making her other art medium of choice, beaded jewelry. Megan is interested in personal responsibility and choice and how we define our lives and our love in a world seemingly going downhill. Megan is married and her family and her extended family live in the area so much time is spent with her loved ones. Megan’s goal is to be a working artist, a continually kinder and smarter person and to be “the change you wish to see in the world”. Thank you wholeheartedly to take the time to look at the work. “Through the work comes the work”.
