Nature is the inspiration for my artwork. I see my colors, textures, and shapes in the environment around me. I like the contrast of the raw clay with the smooth colors of the glazes. My goal is to make my ceramics light in both weight and feeling.
I graduated from UCLA in 1969 and started ceramics in night school. I knew this was the path I wanted to follow and I always have.
I have lived in Sedona for 20 years, creating my ceramics in my own studio, set amongst the beautiful red rocks. This iron oxide shows up on the outside of some of my porcelain bowls and beads, so you are taking a bit of this special land home with you.
