About the Artist

I began learning to be a wood turner in 1988, teaching myself the craft by reading many books and magazine articles and trying and trying until I could turn a bowl.Along with being functional, my work is meant to give both visual and tactile pleasure. My pieces are finished with walnut oil, the only edible oil that will cure hard. My bowls and boxes may be used for food. Hand wash and rinse well; rub in a little walnut oil to renew the finish.
Many bowls that I made in the beginning are still in constant use, including the first one turned, which is used regularly.
